Permission was given for Thunder Star (GB) to wear a red hood to post and for Gustav Graves (GB) to go early to post, wearing a red hood.
The Starter reported that The Fixer (IRE) was unruly in the stalls and withdrawn at 6:02pm.
Scott Dixon was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the final furlong involving Glory Fighter (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Mark Winn and Keldeo (GB), unplaced, ridden by Cam Hardie.
Winn was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift left-handed without timely correction when not fully clear of Keldeo (GB), causing Hardie to take a significant check when forced onto the heels of Abate (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider two incidents of interference inside the final furlong, involving Abate (GB), placed second, ridden by Jack Nicholls and Bear Rock (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Robert Havlin.
Being a 7lb claiming apprentice, Nicholls was offered the opportunity to be accompanied but declined.
The first incident was found to be accidental as Abate (GB) had shifted left-handed away from the whip, before being quickly corrected by its rider which resulted in Bear Rock (IRE) receiving a bump.
In the second incident, a short distance later, Nicholls was cautioned for careless riding as after his mount had already shown a tendency to move left-handed away from the whip, he had again used his whip in the right-hand which resulted in Abate (GB) shifting left and caused Havlin to take a precautionary check on Bear Rock (IRE).
Following the race, Joanna Mason reported that Knicks (IRE), unplaced, was denied a clear run inside the final ½ furlong.
