Donald McCain could offer no explanation for CULMINATION's performance other than Ryan Day reporting that the gelding was never travelling. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of CULMINATION, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The performance of DESTINED TO SHINE (IRE), which started joint-second favourite and was pulled up, was considered. Kerry Lee's explanation that the gelding met interference at the fifth last hurdle and hung left-handed thereafter, was noted.
