I looked at the race last night and thought there wouldn't be a lot of pace in the race so decided to make the running and it worked out well!. It was a nice pot to get and he's been a great servant. It has started him off on the right note for the season and he'll go back chasing now and will stay at that for the season. He'll run next in the Ballyhack Handicap Chase at Fairyhouse in six weeks time . it's a race he won last year and finished second in the previous year. He probably shouldn't have run in the Irish National last year, when he didn't stay the trip in the soft ground, and should have run the following day in the Dan Moore Chase but we'll stick to chases between two miles and two and a half miles this season. An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards (140 = 11st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall; not be less than 11st 10lb
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each hurdle race won. Any horse rated above 140 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 11st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 140 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any four year old rated above 140 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap) Alternative Handicap
