Permission was given for Cardsharp (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong involving Arcanada (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Richard Kingscote; Documenting (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Jason Hart and Cardsharp (GB), placed third, ridden by Joe Fanning.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Cardsharp (GB) or Arcanada (IRE)’s placing, as although Documenting (GB) had been checked in its run approaching the half furlong marker, the ground and momentum lost as a result was deemed to be less than the official margins of 1½ and 1¼ lengths respectively.
The interference was found to be accidental as Arcanada (IRE) had edged right at the same time as Cardsharp (GB) lugged slightly left, causing Documenting (GB) to be checked when disappointed for a clear run.
Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that Apex King (IRE), placed sixth, reared as the gates opened and was slowly away as a result and Jason Hart reported that Documenting (GB), placed fifth, was denied a clear run inside the final furlong.
The representative of Richard Hannon reported that Oh This Is Us (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by the Tapeta surface on this occasion and the colt was routine tested.
