Permission was given for My Friend Stan (IRE) to go early to post.
The performance of Alsvinder (GB), which started favourite and finished eighth, was considered.
Philip Kirby’s representative could offer no explanation for the stallion’s performance, other than Ben Curtis reported that Alsvinder (GB) stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of Alsvinder (GB), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Connor Beasley, the rider of Scarboroughdebut (GB), placed fifth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post to be beaten by a head by the fast finishing Lord Of The Glen (GB).
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Beasley’s explanation was noted that having raced up with the pace, the filly had started to tire in the final ½ furlong and started to lug left.
Beasley added that he had continued to ride out to the line and in his opinion had obtained the best possible placing.
