An enquiry was held into the circumstances surrounding Millie Wonnacott, the rider of DOING FINE (IRE), and Mr Angus Cheleda, the rider of EDLANTINE DE SEUIL (FR), and their Jockey Coach being on the track during Race 4 as the horses were turning into the home straight on the final circuit.
Wonnacott, Cheleda, the Jockey Coach and the Clerk of the Course were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
They explained that they were walking the course ahead of their rides and had lost track of time so were unaware that runners were on the track.
The Stewards reminded them of their responsibility to remain vigilant when walking the course, so at ensure their and other participants safety at all times.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Phoenix Way (IRE), which was pulled up, had bled from the nose.
