The Stewards enquired into possible interference inside the final furlong involving I'll Be Your Clown, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed fourth, John Constable, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, placed second, Tonton Macoute, ridden by F.M. Berry, placed first and Hannah's Magic, ridden by C.P. Hoban, placed third. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings and took no further action, having deemed the interference accidental. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Fiscal Focus, trained by J. S. Bolger, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.

Weights - Top weight in the original handicap shall not; be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won. Any horse rated above 90 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 90 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
