Permission was given for Cheltenam De Vaige (FR) to be mounted in the chute and to go early to post.
Approaching the bend going into the back straight on the final circuit, Jarlath (GB), placed seventh, was steadied off the heels of a quickly weakening Lord Schnapps (FR), which was later pulled up, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Lord Schnapps (FR), which was pulled up, was considered.
Dr Richard Newland’s representative explained that the gelding was unsuited by the Good going on this occasion, which was changed to Soft after this race, and would prefer a quicker surface.

The Veterinary Officer reported that both Rizzardo (GB), placed fifth, and Blaze A Trail (IRE), placed sixth, lost their right hind shoes and Jarlath (GB), placed seventh, lost its right fore shoe.
