Permission was given for Themaxwecan (IRE) to go early to post and to be mounted in the chute.
Approximately 2 furlongs out, Themaxwecan (IRE), unplaced, shifted slightly left resulting in Red Flyer (IRE), unplaced, to become short for room and the rider to take a precautionary check but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Insane Bolt (IRE) which finished unplaced, was considered.
Peter Fahey could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Insane Bolt (IRE) during routine tested failed to reveal any abnormalities.
