An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race and to consider possible interference jumping the final fence, involving the winner, Presenting Belle (IRE), ridden by Tom Cannon and Fraterculus (IRE), placed second, ridden by Toby Wynne.
The riders were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident after which it was found that despite Presenting Belle jumping notably right- handed towards Fraterculus (IRE), that Fraterculus (IRE) had actually got in tight to the fence of its own accord and landed steeply, before stumbling independently and Stewards therefore ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The performance of Present Storm (IRE), which was pulled up, was considered.
Charlie Longsdon’s explanation that the mare did not appreciate the Going, which was officially described as Good, but was in his opinion riding softer and the mare would prefer a quicker surface, was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post race examination of Present Storm (IRE), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
