The Stewards enquired into possible interference rounding the home turn involving Shakeytry, ridden by S.J. Gray, placed first and Persian Wind, ridden by L.P. Dempsey, placed second, where it appeared that Persian Wind ran short of room and checked. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference was accidental in nature and they therefore made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action

The Stewards interviewed S.J. Gray, rider of Shakeytry, concerning his use of the whip in the final two furlongs of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that S.J. Gray was in breach of Regulations 10.3 (a), in that he used his whip in front of the saddle in the forehand position, 10.3(f) in that he used his whip with excessive frequency, and 10.4 in that he used his whip without giving his mount time to respond. Having considered his previous record in this regard, the Stewards suspended S.J. Gray for 3 racedays.
