The winner Silva Eclipse (GB) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Uttoxeter on 19 March 2022 where the gelding finished fifth of twelve runners beaten by 40 lengths.
The stewards noted the explanation given by Sue Smith’s representative that the gelding was suited by being able to dominate the race on this occasion.
Silva Eclipse (GB) was routine tested.
The Stewards noted that rounding the stables bend going onto the final circuit Phil De Pail (FR), placed third, edged right making contact with the running rail resulting in the gelding’s quarters being turned.
After viewing a recording of the incident, the Stewards were satisfied that no other horse or rider were involved.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that the winner Silva Eclipse (GB) lost its right-fore shoe.
