An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately ½ a furlong out involving Love Is Golden (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Franny Norton and Military Two Step (FR), placed sixth, ridden by Richard Kingscote.
The interference was found to be accidental as Love Is Golden (IRE) had shifted quickly left-handed, away from the whip before being corrected by its rider, resulting in Military Two Step (FR) being hampered when receiving a significant bump.
The winner, Side Shot (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Haydock Park on 22 May 2021 where the gelding finished fourth of five runners, beaten by 19¼ lengths on Heavy ground.
The representative of John and Thady Gosden explained that Side Shot (GB) had appreciated the return to a sounder surface on this occasion.
Her comments were noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Franny Norton reported that Love Is Golden (IRE), placed fifth, was denied a clear run over the concluding stages.
