Permission was given for Night Narcissus (IRE) to go early to post.
Just inside the final furlong, Melodic Charm (IRE), placed third, shifted quickly left-handed away from the winner, Invincible Larne (IRE), causing Night Narcissus (IRE), placed fifth, to be checked in its run, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of any horse.
Following the race, Clifford Lee reported that Shallow Hal (GB), unplaced, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and was badly denied a clear run from approaching the final half furlong; John Fahy reported that Night Narcissus (IRE), placed fifth, was denied a clear run approximately 1 furlong out and David Probert reported that Muscika (GB), unplaced, ran too free.
