An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference after the last fence involving The Lion Dancer (IRE), placed third, ridden by Harry Bannister, the winner Magic Of Milan (IRE), ridden by Lewis Stones, Espoir Moriviere (FR), placed second, ridden by Dylan Johnston and Motown Lake (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Nick Schofield.
Being 7lb claiming conditionals, Stones and Johnston were offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Magic Of Milan (IRE)’s placing as Motown Lake (IRE) had edged left rounding the elbow of the by-passed last fence, contributing to the interference and Magic Of Milan (IRE) appeared to be holding the upper hand before going away to win by a length and a quarter.
The interference was found to be accidental as The Lion Dancer (IRE), edged right around the elbow of the by passed fence, at the same time as Motown Lake (IRE) edged left, leaving both Magic Of Milan (IRE) and Espoir Moriviere (FR) short for racing room.
Following the race, Conor O'Farrell reported that Eveque (FR), which was pulled up, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that The Very Thing (IRE), which was pulled up, bled from the nose.
