It was a very welcome winner as our horses got sick a year and a half ago and we haven't had a winner in that time. We hadn't a horse in the stable a year ago because we had to clear them out and it is great to get that winner. It is a credit to the lads at home who work every day and JJ (Slevin) gave him a great ride. It's great for John and Rose Devitt (winning owners) who are great supporters of the yard; it's onwards and upwards.

The Stewards enquired into an incident on the turn into the back straight involving Padraic's Choice, ridden by J.S
McGarvey, unplaced, Gendarme, ridden by G.B. Noonan, unplaced and Betterask Jj, ridden by Jamie Hayes, unplaced, where it appeared that Padraic's Choice stumbled in running. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that any interference caused was accidental in nature and took no further action J.S. McGarvey, rider of Padraic's Choice, trained by P.Meany, stated at a Stewards' Enquiry that his mount clipped a heel and stumbled at the turn into the back straight GENERAL INFORMATION Following a request from broadcasters, the Stewards granted permission for the following delays: Races 1 to 7 inclusive + 5 minutes The following Raceday Stewards acted on behalf of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board at this race meeting: Mr. John Moloney (Chairman), Mr. Paddy Barry, Mr. Con O'Mahony, Mr. P.D.
