The Stewards noted that approaching the final furlong, Al Kout (GB), placed third, became tightened for galloping room when giving ground between both the winner, Sleeping Lion (USA) and Prince Imperial (USA), placed fourth, which was hanging right-handed despite the riders’ best efforts to correct the gelding, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Jamie Spencer reported that Starczewski (USA), placed fifth, was slowly away and James Doyle reported that Prince Imperial (USA), which started joint second-favourite and finished fourth, hung right-handed inside the final furlong.
Hollie Doyle reported that Vibrance (GB), which started joint second-favourite and finished sixth, ran flat.
