Tim Easterby had obtained prior permission from the BHA to run Bollin Joan (GB) partially shod.
Noble Anthem (IRE) had gone through the railings at the start.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, the colt was deemed fit to race.
The performance of Noble Anthem (IRE), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Paul Mulrennan reported that the colt was restless at the start and in the stalls and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination, during routine testing of Noble Anthem (IRE), failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Shortly after the ½ furlong pole, as WOOTTON’SUN (FR), placed second, moved into a legitimate gap, the winner, Tilsitt (FR), shifted right which caused WOOTTON’SUN to go further right than the rider had intended and consequently gave a bump to Glasses Up (USA), placed third, taking the gelding off it’s intended line but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved, and it had not improved the placing of any runner.
