Permission was given for Ginger Max (GB), Mea Culpa (IRE), Uncle Charlie (IRE) and Logi (IRE) to go early to post.
The Clerk of the Scales objected to Ginger Max (GB), placed fourth, ridden by David Nolan, on the grounds of the rider failing to weigh in.
Ginger Max (GB) was disqualified and the placings revised as follows: Fourth – Elixsoft (IRE).
After being interviewed, the rider was suspended for 3 days and was not entitled to a riding fee.
An enquiry was held following a report from Martin Dwyer that the visor on Elusif (IRE), trained by Richard Guest, had appeared to slip shortly after the start, limiting the horse’s vision and requiring Dwyer to ease the gelding out of the race.
Having viewed footage of the race and interviewed the rider and the trainer’s representative and examined the visor worn by the gelding, the Stewards were satisfied that the visor was in a serviceable condition, however, a buckle had become detached during the race.
Their explanations were noted.
