The winner, J’AI FROID (IRE) appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Haydock on 2 December 2020 where the gelding finished fourth of eight, beaten by 56 lengths.
LJ Morgan’s explanation was noted that the gelding had stripped fitter for it’s Haydock run which was the first for the yard after a 638 day break, and was suited by the first time application of a visor today.
J’AI FROID (IRE) was routine tested.
The performance of Made For You (GB), which started favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
The representative of Olly Murphy could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance, other than Fergus Gregory reported that the gelding was never travelling.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Made For You (GB) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
