The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Go Hard Or Go Home (IRE), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
D J Jeffreys was interviewed.
His comments that the gelding had benefitted from the application of the first-time blinkers and tongue-strap were noted and Go Hard Or Go Home (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Miss Lorna Brooke reported that Vinnie Red (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling and resented the tongue-strap.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Way Of The World (IRE), which was also pulled up, revealed the gelding was lame on its left-fore.
