Permission was given for Light Of Thunder (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when Luxy Lou (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jonathan Fisher, interfered with Global Vision (IRE), placed third, ridden by Lewis Edmunds.
Fisher was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift left-handed into the bend before being fully clear of Global Vision (IRE), causing Edmunds to take a check to avoid his heels.
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the bend entering the back straight involving Luxy Lou (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Jonathan Fisher, Red Evelyn (GB), unplaced, ridden by Joey Haynes, The Nail Gunner (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Trevor Whelan, Global Vision (IRE), placed third, ridden by Lewis Edmunds, and the winner Sparkle In His Eye (GB), ridden by Aiden Brookes.
Being a 7lb apprentice, Brookes was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Brookes was suspended for 7 days for careless riding as he had made insufficient effort to prevent his horse drifting left towards the rail when insufficiently clear, causing Red Evelyn (GB) to clip his heels and stumble badly, in turn hampering Global Vision (IRE) which was following behind.
Whelan and Fisher were interviewed but found to not have been involved in the incident.
Approximately 4½ furlongs out, a free running Inner Circle, unplaced, improved into a gap up the inside of Alicestar (GB), placed fourth, where there was insufficient room for a horse, resulting in Inner Circle having to be checked.
However, after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, Trevor Whelan reported that The Nail Gunner (IRE), placed fifth, ran too free.
