Permission was given for Judgment Call (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
Approaching the winning line, Cold Stare (IRE), placed second, edged left-handed giving a small bump to Pol Roger (IRE), placed fourth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Cold Stare (IRE).

Linda Perratt’s explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the Going on this occasion, which was officially described as Soft and would prefer a faster surface was noted.
Judgment Call (GB) was routine tested.

Jim Goldie could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post- race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
