The Veterinary Officer reported that Logi (IRE), trained by Rebecca Bastiman, had arrived on course fully shod and the trainer was intending to run the gelding fully shod but he had subsequently lost a hind shoe in the stable.
He further added that the farrier had refitted the shoe but the gelding had once again ‘kicked both hind shoes off’.
As the farrier was then unable to refit the shoes satisfactorily, the Stewards gave permission for Logi (IRE) to run without hind shoes.
The performance of Gometra Ginty (IRE) which started second favourite and finished seventh, was considered.
Keith Dalgleish could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance.
Gometra Ginty (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Adam McNamara reported that Inner Circle (IRE), placed fourth, was continually denied a clear run in the final 2 furlongs.
