The winner Not What It Seems (IRE) appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Carlisle on 10 March 2022, where the gelding finished ninth of twelve beaten 37 lengths.
It was noted that Micky Hammond could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
An enquiry was held to consider interference leaving the bend approaching the second last hurdle, when Gold Miner (GB), placed fourth, ridden by Danny McMenamin, interfered with Last One To Show (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Emma Smith-Chaston.
McMenamin was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he had made a manoeuvre to his left when it ought to have been obvious that interference would occur.
Following the race, Conor O'Farrell reported that Where's Hector (GB), placed third, was never travelling.
