Permission was given for Soyounique (IRE) to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after two incidents of interference involving the winner, Thapa VC (IRE), ridden by Rob Hornby, and Los Camachos (IRE), placed second, ridden by Grace McEntee.
In the first incident, approaching 1 furlong out, the interference was found to be accidental and caused by Thapa VC (IRE) lugging right-handed at the same time as Los Camachos (IRE) edged left-handed resulting in the pair coming together and making light contact.
In the second incident, inside the final half furlong, the interference was also found to be accidental in that Thapa VC (IRE) again lugged right-handed despite Hornby’s best efforts to correct the gelding and made slight contact with Los Camachos (IRE), carrying that gelding off its intended line.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Thapa VC (IRE)’s placing as the interference was only of a minimal nature and McEntee never had to stop riding her mount, furthermore Thapa VC (IRE) always appeared to be holding Los Camachos (IRE) before winning by a short head margin.
Following the race, Billy Garritty reported that Chookie Dunedin (GB), which started second-favourite and finished sixth, was slowly away and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Hollie Doyle reported that Bolly Bullet (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
