Permission was given for Platitude (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring and go early to post and for Platform Nineteen (IRE) to go early and be led to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference rounding the first bend when Alfredo (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Tom Queally, interfered with Nakeeta (GB), unplaced, ridden by Robert Havlin, which in turn interfered with the winner, Landa Beach (IRE), ridden by David Probert.
Queally was cautioned for careless riding as he maneuvered right towards the rail causing Havlin to take a check, which in turn shifted Probert off his intended line.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong out when THEDarksideoftarnside (IRE), placed second, ridden by Jim Crowley, interfered with Platitude (GB), placed third, ridden by Marco Ghiani.
The interference was found to be accidental as Darksideoftarnside (IRE) shifted quickly left taking PLATITDUE off its intended line.
Following the race, Michael Bell reported that Platform Nineteen (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by the going, which was officially described as Soft, Heavy in places on this occasion, and would prefer a firmer surface.
