Fereeji stepped up on some reasonable efforts and ran out a comfortable winner. He was always close to the pace and therefore had no traffic problems which can be a feature of tight handicaps around this track.

The runner-up, Breaker Morant, was also on the pace throughout and continues the fine run for the stable.

Top-weight Lake Pontchartrain appreciated the drop in trip and ran a solid race.

Cochlear, on a four-timer, did not get the clearest of passages in the straight, but was only staying on at the one pace inside the final furlong.

Rockazar ran in snatches and will be of more interest when reunited with Johnny Murtagh.
