He's a good rider. He had strict instructions to follow Fran Berry (on Shabra Emperor) but two furlongs out decided to stop following him!. That's the horse's 68th start and he's been leading the yearlings for the last six months. The owner (the trainer) was out of luck in the last so that will keep us going.

The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Reckless Lad, trained by Patrick Martin, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be slightly lame in front post race.
