Permission was given for Tribal Wisdom (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the ½ furlong marker, involving Lunanera (FR), placed fourth, ridden by Hollie Doyle; Shalfa (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Robert Havlin; and MARION’S BOY (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Rossa Ryan.
The interference was found to be accidental as Lunanera (FR) stepped quickly right-handed, away from the stick, resulting in both Shalfa (IRE) and MARION’S BOY (IRE) becoming tightened for room and Havlin having to take a check.
Silvestre De Sousa, the rider of the winner, Royal Dream (GB), was also present in the enquiry but having heard the evidence of the riders, it was found he was not involved in the interference.
The winner, Royal Dream (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 9 January 2024 where the gelding finished ninth of ten runners beaten by 24 lengths.
Ed Dunlop’s representative’s explanation that the gelding had benefitted from a break, was noted.
Royal Dream (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Billy Loughnane reported that Tribal Wisdom (IRE), placed second, hung right- handed; Rossa Ryan reported that MARION’S BOY (IRE), placed fifth, was denied a clear run approaching the ½ furlong marker; and George Rooke reported that La Rav (IRE), unplaced, ran too free.
