Permission was given for Shackled N Drawn (USA) to go early to post.
Dark Magic (GB), drawn 8, jumped left-handed out of the stalls making contact with Bond Street Beau (GB), drawn 7, which in turn interfered with African Blessing (GB), drawn 6.
After viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Tavener (GB), drawn 3, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Following the race, Kieren Fox reported that African Blessing (GB), placed fourth, was denied a clear run.
The Sampling Officer reported that Adam Kirby had been unable to provide a urine sample and now wished to leave the course so as to ride at another meeting.
The rider and the Sampling Officer were interviewed.
The rider’s explanation that due to having to do a light weight at Chelmsford this evening he was unable to take any more fluid on board and, therefore, was unable to provide a sample was accepted and the Stewards granted him an exemption from providing a sample.
