I know this is his fifth win and he’s loads of talent but you are never quite sure if he’s going to turn up on the day. His main job now is as Lady Kaya’s lead horse. He led her on a piece of work on Tuesday and I wasn’t sure what would turn up today. He can work to a much higher level of horse than he runs to on the track. Sometimes he just can’t be arsed to put it in!. You have to try and convince him that he’s running away with you and then he’ll keep going.

The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing involving Port Lions, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed second, Hasselnott (GB), ridden by S.M. Crosse, placed third and Secret Wizard, ridden by R.C. Colgan, placed first. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of Anthony McCann, trainer, who accompanied S.M. Crosse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings. They did, however, caution S.M. Crosse concerning the accuracy of his evidence.
An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (90 = 9st 12lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 12lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 6lb extra; for each race won.
