Permission was given for Caleta Sunrise (IRE) to go early to post.
Leaving the stalls, the winner, Twilight Secret (GB), jumped left-handed causing interference to Mutabaahy (IRE), unplaced, which in turn left Caleta Sunrise (IRE), placed sixth, tight for room, causing the quarters of Catesby (GB), placed fourth, to be turned, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Twilight Secret (GB).
The winner, Twilight Secret (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Pontefract on 15 July 2022 where the gelding finished last of five, beaten by 20 lengths.
Grant Tuer’s representative’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the first-time application of blinkers was noted.
Twilight Secret (GB) was routine tested.
Following the race, Harry Burns reported that Caleta Sunrise (IRE), placed sixth, suffered interference leaving the stalls, losing their early position, and subsequently did not face the kickback.
