Permission was given for Pearl Beach (GB) to wear a hood in the parade ring which was removed before going to the start.
Prior to this race, a query was raised with David Elsworth as to why he was running End Result (GB) here at Goodwood on going described as Good to Firm, Good in places, having declared the filly a non-runner at Doncaster on 5 June 2021 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that in his opinion the track at Doncaster has had a lot of racing, and whilst it is not ideal to run the filly on this ground at Goodwood, he wanted her to take her chance today as he felt the track was well watered and has had much less racing recently.
