Adjourn (GB), trained by David Simcock, ran without its right-fore shoe as the trainer had not indicated at declaration stage that the colt should be withdrawn in the event of losing a shoe on the way to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 1 furlong after the start when Red Power (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Hayley Turner, interfered with Spacer (IRE), placed third, ridden by Pat Cosgrave.
Turner was cautioned for careless riding as she had angled her mount left-handed to obtain cover when insufficiently clear of Spacer (IRE), causing Cosgrave to take a slight check.
The performance of Luminous Light (GB), which started favourite and finished last of five runners having weakened noticeably inside the final 2 furlongs, after making the running was considered.
It was noted that the representative of Mark Johnston could offer no explanation for the colt’s performance on this occasion and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Luminous Light (GB), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
