Review tramore 12th Aug
Charles Byrnes and Davy Russell teamed up to good effect once again as Lash It On prevailed in the Tom Murphy (Mercedez-Benz) Car Sales Handicap Chase.
The 5-1 victor wasn't without support, despite showing very little on his last two starts, and ensured that support wasn't misplaced as he recorded a three quarters of a length success.
Russell cut a confident figure as his mount cruised round before skipping clear after the last but there were a few anxious moments late on as Lash It On began to tie up close home and he only had three quarters of a length in hand over One Fine Morning at the line.< Sir Jack Yeats (7-1) continued the purple patch of the Ellmarie Holden stable when landing the EY Beginners Chase at Tramore.
The five-year-old produced a strong staying performance under David Mullins, taking over between the final two fences before keeping on dourly on the run-in to record a one and a half length success.
There was another winner for sire, Yeats, on the card as Lily Yeats proved much too strong for her rivals in the Flynn Hotel Group Mares Handicap Hurdle.
Sent off at odds of 9-1, the five-year-old came there full of running as they swung for home and despite fluffing the final flight, pulled five lengths clear of Trendy Nurse on the run-in.
There was a shock winner of Marthas Bar Maiden Hurdle as Desertmore Dreamer (33-1) held off the late challenge of 13-8 favourite Henry Howard by a length and a half.
The market leader made relentless progress from the back to throw down his challenge after the last but found the winner in no mood for laying down and was comfortably held at the line.< Glendine River (5-1) made it two wins in as many days when following Thursday's Flat success with victory in the Midge Nolan Memorial Mares Maiden.
