< Plinth (16-1) caused a little bit of a shock when claiming the decent pot on offer in the Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary.
Things looked to be going to plan for hot-favourite Ivan Grozny for much of the way as he dictated matters from the front.
However, he was a spent force when firstly, Kitten Rock and then Plinth came at him approaching the final flight of hurdles and it was the latter who finished to best effect as he recorded a convincing three and a half length success.
There was another turn up in feature race on the Flat, the Coolmoore Pride Of Dubai Tipperary Stakes, as Sirici came out on top for trainer Tommy Stack.
The 14-1 victor fought out a thrilling battle with Actress and Now You're Talking from some way out and only just prevailed, with a neck and a short-head the winning distances.< Berkeley Square (1-5 fav) opened his account at the third time of asking with a smooth victory in the opening Glenvale Stud Irish EBF Maiden.
Seamus Heffernan was happy to take a lead in the early exchanges but took over as they swung for home and although runner-up Swing Till Dawn proved a game foe, Berkeley Square was always getting the better of the argument and forged two and three quarter lengths clear in the closing stages.< Snowstar (5-6 fav) had to work a good deal harder when breaking her duck in the Download The Award Winning At The Races App Maiden but despite lugging left in the closing stages, she was able to hold on by a neck.
The Costello's Tavern Handicap went the way of Path Of Silver (8-1) while Chosen Hour belied his 20-1 price when running out a three and a quarter length winner of the Follow tipperaryraces.ie Handicap Hurdle.< Pass The Ball (3-1 fav) beat Milestone Prince by eight lengths in the Follow @tipperaryraces.ie Handicap Hurdle.
