Review tipperary 24th Jul
< Parliament Square made a successful return to Listed level to land Tipperary's feature contest, the Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes, for the Aidan O'Brien team.
It wasn't plain sailing for the Ballydoyle juvenile, who won his maiden at Fairyhouse last time and was fifth in the Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot on his only other attempt in this company.
Joseph O'Brien pulled him out to challenge a furlong and a half out and the 2-1 favourite took a while to hit top gear in the soft ground before edging past Boston Rocker close home to win by half a length.
The O'Briens may be looking for a little more from the highly touted Dundalk winner Mars next season and the form of his debut victory was franked when well-beaten runner-up The Ferryman (11-8) took the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden.
A stablemate of Mars, The Ferryman looked a classy individual in his own right as he pulled clear from the front, although there was a scary moment when he swerved right before holding on by a length and a half.< Purple went off the 4-5 favourite to give Ballydoyle another success in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden, but she could finish no better than third after dictating the pace for a long way.
The Jim Bolger-trained Teofolina (6-1) gave chase down the straight under Kevin Manning and hit the front a furlong out before resisting the determined challenge of Aegean Sky by a neck.
Tommy Stack's 5-4 favourite Cape Of Approval dug deep for Wayne Lordan to gain the advantage by half a length close home in a tight finish to the Fillies Friday Night Out 10th August Maiden.
Billy Lee 's strength in the saddle made the difference as Timothy Doyle's Peinora (20-1) beat the sweet-travelling Jigalo by a neck in the Dundrum House Hotel Golf & Leisure Resort Handicap.
