Rye Martini jumps the last under Davy Russell ahead of Reafadda

The two chases had to be cancelled at Tipperary but there was still quality on show as Rye Martini made an impressive start in the Follow Tipperary Races On Facebook Maiden Hurdle.
The winning pointer was entitled to need the run on this debut for the Colm Murphy stable - his first appearance since scoring between the flags in March of last year - but he moved smoothly throughout in the hands of Davy Russell.< Reafadda briefly threatened to challenge, but Rye Martini (3/1) stepped up a gear and went away again to prevail by a couple of lengths.< American Flyer was one of the more experienced contenders for the Join The Tipperary Supporter's Club 2013 Maiden Hurdle and ground out a determined success.
The 8/1 shot's better efforts leading into the race had come on heavy ground and he clearly relished conditions to beat Zekarya by a length and three-quarters.
The JP McManus colours were seen in the winner's enclosure after Grange landed the TipperaryRaces On Twitter Handicap Hurdle.
The Edward Harty-trained five-year-old showed precious little in three maidens and a Down Royal handicap last season, but he has obviously improved markedly throughout the summer because he fairly sprinted away from Shesonlyahorse after the last, and won cosily by four and three-quarter lengths.
McManus had to settle for second when Western Man couldn't peg back Vic Chic in the www.tipperaryraces.ie Handicap Hurdle.
The 13/2 winner took the lead off Whatdreamsrmadeof rounding the turn for home and although Western Man went in pursuit, he never really looked like catching Vic Chic, who had plenty left in the locker to register a six-length triumph.< Moscow Chief is a half-brother to smart jumper Trafford Lad and displayed plenty of the family talent to make the best possible start to his career in the Season Finale INH Flat Race.
