Review thurles 8th Feb
Henry De Bromhead secured a double at Thurles when Mount Hanover landed the Horse And Jockey Rated Novice Hurdle.
Dylan Robinson was happy to cut out the running on the 2-1 chance and though he momentarily looked in trouble when scrubbed along turning for home, he stuck to his task well to beat favourite Didero Vallis by three and a half lengths.
The double started when Or Jaune De Somoza justified 5-4 favouritism with an all-the-way win in the thurles.ie Maiden Hurdle.
Davy Russell was happy to lead on the six-year-old and had his rivals in trouble a long way from home, eventually beating Bang Bang Rosie by two and three-quarter lengths.
Russell bagged his second success of the day when coaxing Last Man Standing between runners at the second last before striding on nicely to win the Holycross Maiden Hurdle for Mouse Morris.
The jockey then secured a treble on the card when getting Gordon Elliott's 5-2 favourite Goodthynemilan home in the Killinan Handicap Hurdle.
Willie Mullins had two runners prominent in the betting for the Templemore Beginners Chase but it was his less-fancied runner Pylonthepressure who took the spoils at Thurles.
The winner's stablemate Turcagua was sent off an uneasy joint favourite and fell at the second, leaving fellow market leader La Martalin to track Balbir Du Mathan in the early stages.
Pylonthepressure (9-2) jumped a little clumsily on the back straight and looked beaten turning for home, but found another gear after the last under Robbie Power to collar Balbir Du Mathan and win going away by three lengths.
Mullins made it a double for himself on the day when son Patrick drove Clinton Hill (11-8 favourite) to victory in the Munster Flat Race.
Paul Power's Hawk Eye Down caused a 25-1 upset under Donagh Meyler when landing the BoyleSports Download Our App Handicap Chase.
