Review navan 13th Nov
Sean Flanagan registered a Grade Two double at Navan, started when Snow Falcon showed class and tenacity in equal measure to come out on top in the Lismullen Hurdle.
Despite having to concede 5lb all round, Noel Meade's 5-1 chance cruised ominously into contention, only to have to be switched around the heels of the front-running De Plotting Shed on the run to the last.
He still had a couple of lengths to make up but landed running and overhauled De Plotting Shed to triumph by three and a quarter lengths.
Flanagan's success on Arctic Skipper in the TheTote.com Fortria Chase was much more of a surprise as the 25-1 shot claimed the scalps of Gilgamboa and Ballycasey
With four still in with a shout heading to the last, Vincent Halley's charge jumped it just in front and kept going admirably for Flanagan to keep Gilgamboa a short head at bay.
The Gordon Elliott-trained Labaik (11-4) took Grade Three honours in the For Auction Novice Hurdle.
His stable companion Mick Jazz appeared the likely winner when taking the lead off Le Martalin at the last, but Labaik was just hitting top gear in the hands of Ruby Walsh and flew home to score by a length and three-quarters.< That's A Wrap is a progressive young hurdler and registered his second win from as many starts this campaign with a one-length defeat of Ainslie in the St Johann Ski Resort Tirol Austria Handicap Hurdle as the 13-8 favourite.
His jockey Mark Walsh also struck on Anibale Fly (7-2) in the Crystalski.ie EBF Beginners Chase.
On his fencing bow, Tony Martin's Punchestown Festival winner was one of three to jump the last disputing the lead and pulled out most to see off Martello Tower by a cosy three-quarters of a length, with Gurteen third.< The Jazz Singer (8-1) wore down Futuramic to claim the Meath Farm Machinery Handicap Hurdle, while Magic Of Light took the Kevin Bell Repatriation Trust (Pro/Am) Flat Race.
