Trainer Tony Martin looks to have a decent prospect in Osirixamix who made a big impression on his debut over fences in the Greenmount Beginners Chase at Limerick.

A winner over hurdles at Cork in December, he wasted no time in making his mark over the bigger obstacles.

Always prominent, the 8-1 shot was sent to the front by Robbie Power two out and the result was not in doubt as he cruised home by eight lengths from Healys Bar

"He schooled over fences at Leopardstown and was unreal," said Martin.

"Jumping is his strong point. He'll go for a winners of one and could go to any of the good tracks as he jumps so well."

John Berry saddled his first winner for owner JP McManus when Parnell Street, the 4-1 joint-favourite, was a convincing eight-length winner of the Greenmount Conference Centre Novice Handicap Chase under Mark Walsh.

"That's my first winner for JP and it's a long time coming," said the County Wexford trainer.

Tom Doyle kicked for home on Kieran Purcell's charge some way out and held the late challenges of Sheer Genius and odds-on favourite Aughaloor

"I'm stunned by that. I wasn't expecting it," said Purcell.

"He's a good sound horse and he will be even better on better ground. I've no plans at the moment, we'll see how he is after this. He'll make a lovely chaser next year."

Aughaloor's trainer Willie Mullins and jockey Paul Townend gained quick compensation when Dare To Doubt justified her short price of 8-11 when making all in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Mares Maiden Hurdle.

The well-backed 2-1 favourite Trendelenburg duly took the Australia Day Handicap Hurdle in game fashion for trainer Gordon Elliott and jockey Paul Carberry while Sean Doyle, better known as a point-to-point
