< Youcantcallherthat claimed the scalp of Dinaria Des Obeaux to take Grade Two honours in the Charleville Cheese EBF Mares Novice Chase at Limerick.
Denis Hogan's 5-1 shot put the pace to the race, with Dinaria Des Obeaux in close attendance, but stole a couple of lengths with better leaps going down the back for the final time.
The favourite threw down one last challenge after the final fence, but Youcantcallherthat really stuck her neck out, with her trainer also doing the steering, and held on by half a length.
Gordon Elliott may have been out of luck with Dinaria Des Obeaux but he still registered a brace, headlined by Lackaneen Leader s triumph in the Grade Three Kerry Group EBF Shannon Spray Mares Novice Hurdle.
The 4-1 chance jumped the last two flights locked in a battle for the lead with fellow hat-trick seeker Moyhenna but saw out the two and three-quarter miles better to score by a length and a quarter under Davy Russell.
Russell cruised into contention on Elliott's Caltex in the 59 Hospitality Packages At Limerick Racecourse Maiden Hurdle, and moved to the front approaching the second-last.< Percy Veer tried to give chase but it already appeared in vain when he made a mistake, allowing Caltex (6-4) to stroll across the line six lengths to the good.
That completed a treble for Russell, initiated when the Ellmarie Holden-trained Chateauneuf Du Pap won the Follow Limerick Racecourse On Facebook Rated Novice Hurdle as the 7-4 favourite.
Those who took the 1-4 about Balbir Du Mathan never really had to worry, with the favourite establishing a clear advantage from an early stage before going clear again after the turn.
The well-backed Ballinabearna (9-2) got off the mark at the sixth time of asking in the Follow Limerick Racecourse On Twitter Handicap Hurdle, while Cappacurry Zak (7-2) won the Liam Hogan Memorial Handicap Chase.
