Review leopardstown 9th Aug
< Galileo's Choice showed plenty of determination to land the Group Three Ballyroan Stakes at Leopardstown, giving Dermot Weld and Pat Smullen a double in the process.
Galileo's Choice was hard at work on the home straight after Bible Belt had slipped into a slight lead on the rail.
Responding well to Smullen's urgings, the 9-4 favourite eventually got the better of that duel and though Massiyn ran on close home to take second, he was still a length and a half down on the winner at the line.
Smullen and Weld secured the first leg of their double when Stuccodor (7/1) ran on strongly to hold off the withering late surge of Love Nest to land the leopardstown.com Handicap by half a length.
Racecourse experience proved invaluable in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Maiden as Dont Bother Me opened his account at the third attempt.
Niall Moran's 13-2 chance travelled well Rory Cleary and pulled clear well before the furlong marker, before going on to record a two and three-quarter length victory over Polished Rock
A cool ride from apprentice Ross Coakley saw his mount Dream Applause (12-1) run out a narrow winner of the Foxrock Fillies Maiden.
In the lead on the home straight, Ken Condon's filly was joined by Via Ballycroy but Coakley put down the whip and coaxed her home using hands and heels to score by a short head.< Zariyna has occasionally blotted her copybook by running too free in the past, but under an excellent Johnny Murtagh ride, she made it two wins on the spin in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Handicap.
Held up astutely by her rider, Michael Halford's 5-1 chance swept to the front inside the final furlong and recorded a length and a quarter verdict over Cheval Rouge
Jim Bolger's Something Graceful (7-1) held off all challenges to land the 'Ryan Sheridan' Maiden under Kevin Manning.
