Review leopardstown 26th Oct
Jim Bolger's Dewhurst Stakes also-ran Free Judgement returned to winning ways with an authoritative display in the Group Three J.R.A. Killavullan Stakes at Leopardstown.
Kevin Manning tracked the pacesetting Lord High Admiral on the 7-1 chance, before moving into the lead on the home turn and going on to win by two lengths.
Manning notched up a feature-race double when Raise Your Heart (6-1) achieved a new career-best in the Jockey Club Of Turkey Trigo Stakes.
Joanna Morgan's useful jumper has made great strides on the level this term and readily brushed aside Distant Memories to register a two-length success in the Listed contest.
Manning completed a treble on Bolger's Silent Decision in the concluding Elmwood Handicap.
Despite previous experience, What A Charm (12-1) was the lesser-fancied of the John Oxx pair in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Fillies Maiden but battled resolutely to deny Sahaayeb by two lengths, with the colts' equivalent going the way of 10-11 favourite Don Carlos who helped Johnny Murtagh's title quest by holding off Legendary Lad < Smoky Cloud (20-1) left all known form behind when scooping the Horse Racing Ireland Pensioners Nursery under Keagan Latham, while the in-form Daryl Byrne emerged on top when steering 9-2 market leader Mid Mon Lady to victory in the Derrinstown Stud Apprentice Handicap Final.
Over at Galway, smart bumper performer Luska Lad was a hot 1-2 favourite for the Corrib Food Products Maiden Hurdle and produced a solid enough display to see off Magnanimity by a widening two and a half lengths under Ruby Walsh.
Walsh supplemented that success courtesy of Beroni (9-4) in the John Mulholland Bookmakers Handicap Chase and on Castlegar Handicap Chase winner Operation Houdini (9-2), while China Rock made it second-time lucky over fences.
Mouse Morris's 5-2 shot headed Alpha Ridge turning into the straight, but that rival fought valiantly and only went down by a neck at the line.
