Wayne Lordan completed a double

< Wannabe Better took the step up to Listed company in her stride in the Vincent O'Brien Ruby Stakes at Killarney.
Tommy Stack's 12-1 chance only broke her duck at the ninth attempt in a Naas maiden earlier in the month, but she took the lead off Captain Joy entering the final furlong in the hands of Wayne Lordan and stuck on well for a two-length call.< Snow Queen once again blew her chance at the start, but her trainer Aidan O'Brien enjoyed a double, kickstarted when Kingfisher gave a further boost to the form of Free Eagle by winning the Irish Stallion Farms EBF (C & G) Maiden as he liked.
Fourth to Dermot Weld's Derby favourite on his Leopardstown debut, the Galileo colt was sent off the 8-13 favourite to build on that and after being kicked into the lead before the turn, he quickened impressively to cross the line nine lengths ahead of Salute Of Approval
O'Brien followed up when Piet Mondrian ran out a similarly facile winner of the Wholesome Fayre Maiden.
The 8-11 market leader hadn't been seen since the opening day of the turf season but fitness wasn't a concern because Joseph O'Brien bounced him out into a lead and he didn't have to get too serious to stretch three lengths clear of Vasanta Navaratri < Maudlin Magdalen (5-1) completed a hat-trick with a game front-running display in the Colin Counihan Tarmac Handicap.
Successful at Dundalk and Bellewstown already this month, Donal Kinsella's filly blazed a trail again and saw out the extended mile well to see off Cairdiuil by a length and a half.< Long Journey Home (10-1) led his rivals a merry dance under Lordan in the Robin Parke Memorial Handicap, while 5-1 shot Ned's Indian made it off the reserves' bench to claim the Diarmuid Cronin Electrical Handicap.
