Willie Mullins saddled the first two home as Daisy's Gift landed the Pat Walsh Memorial Mares Hurdle, the feature event at Gowran on Friday.
It was his stablemate Whiteout that was sent off 5-4 favourite under Ruby Walsh for the Listed contest and the Mullins pair did battle after swamping long-time leader Collen Beag at the second-last.
The winner made a mistake at the final flight but dug deep for Paul Townend to get back up by half a length at 13-2.
Mullins completed a double when Snag List justified favouritism in the closing Join Gowran Park Golf Club (Pro/Am) Flat Race with the ease his off 1-3 suggested he would.
Patrick Mullins was motionless as the newcomer cruised up to leader Faraway Mountain and went two lengths clear at the line with the minimum of fuss.< Prince Kup (15-8) got favourite backers off to a good start in the opening Thomastown Maiden Hurdle.
Always going well for Andrew Lynch, Edward O'Grady's charge took it up at the last and went on to score by three and a half lengths from Holy Water in convincing fashion.< Baily Cloud (2-1) made all under Bryan Cooper in the Racing Again Tomorrow Maiden Hurdle.
The Mouse Morris-trained five-year-old was challenged on the home straight by Stuccodor and Rathmuck Native but jumped the final two flights better than his pursuers and galloped four lengths clear of the latter on the run-in.
The Dining Packages At www.gowranpark.ie Handicap Hurdle went to Freedom Square who came from last to first to spring a 20-1 surprise.
Making his debut for Pat Lynch, he hit the front before the final hurdle and despite hanging on the run-in, had enough in the tank to prevail in his duel with Lake Chapala by three-quarters of a length.
The reliable Do Try Dolly (8-1) recorded her third win of the year with a dominant four-and-a-quarter-length success over Fearachain in the Follow Gowran Park On Facebook Handicap Hurdle, while Authorative (12-1) stayed on strongly to deny Steel Wave by three-quarters of a length in the Book Goffs Thyestes Packages Today Handica
