The Bar One Racing Royal Bond Novice Hurdle went to Willie Mullins' exciting prospect Hurricane Fly (2-1).
Stablemate Cousin Vinny making his hurdling debut, set a sedate gallop and there were several in with chances as the race began in earnest three-out.< Donnas Palm leapt to the front at the penultimate flight, but Hurricane Fly was cruising in behind and came with a telling run approaching the last to win by a neck, with Cousin Vinny a creditable third.< Tharawaat (7-4) kicked off proceedings with an impressive victory in the opening Irish Rover Bar, New York Juvenile 3-Y-O Hurdle, earning quotes as short as 12-1 for the Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham.
Davy Russell sent the youngster to the front early on and after jumping confidently throughout, Gordon Elliott's charge pulled clear to record a 12-length win from Druken Sailor.
Edward O'Grady and Andrew McNamara completed a double on the day when Rocco's Hall (4-1) scored from Rebel Chief in the Joe Savage Handicap Hurdle, while Conem relished the return to a shorter distance in the Caffrey's Batterstown Handicap Chase, getting up in the shadow of the post to deny Savitha by a short-head.
