Three Sea Captains, near side, gets up to win at Fairyhouse

David Wachman's excellent run of form continued when Three Sea Captains completed a double for the trainer at Fairyhouse.
Although forced to concede weight all round in the valuable Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes, the recent Curragh Listed winner was sent off a rock-solid 7-4 market leader.
It was not all plain sailing for Wayne Lordan's mount, however, but he knuckled down bravely when it mattered to repel the renewed challenge of Tipping Over after the pair had raced wide coming into the straight.< Gift From Heaven (8-1) initiated the Wachman brace when making a winning racecourse debut in the opening Yearling Bonus Scheme EBF Maiden.
The Excellent Art filly travelled really well in the extremely wet conditions and swept past 95-rated stablemate Slope to score by three lengths under Billy Lee.
Tough-as-teak gelding One Cool Shabra (10-1) made every post a winning one under Ben Curtis in the Tattersalls Ireland November Yearling Sale Handicap.
The Oliver Brady-trained four-year-old was racing from 3lb out of the handicap proper but showed tremendous guts and determination to see off all-comers.< Admiral Barry was the last to lay down a strong challenge and he looked a serious threat as they passed the furlong marker, but One Cool Shabra had the inside rail to help his cause and held on by three parts of a length.
Gary Carroll gave Love Is The Key a clever ride to claim the Admission Only 10 Euros Maiden.
After setting just a steady gallop on Michael Mulvany's 8-1 shot, Carroll kicked for home with two furlongs to travel and although the three-year-old filly was tiring close home, she held on by three quarters of a length from Res Nullius
Leading apprentice Ronan Whelan enjoyed his 26th winner of the season on Paul Deegan's 4-1 joint-favourite Fromajacktoaking in the Tote Sports Lounge Nursery Handicap.
