Review fairyhouse 16th Nov
< Luke's Benefit trained and ridden by Denis Hogan, led his rivals a merry dance in the Trinity College Dublin Horseracing Society Handicap Hurdle at Fairyhouse.
Despite being penalised for Monday's success at Limerick, Hogan's nine-year-old was sent off the 5-2 market leader and his supporters didn't have a moment of worry.
After leading and jumping fluently from the outset, the winner had them all under the pump turning in and he only had to be kept up to his work to beat Give us A Hand by three and three-quarter lengths.
The rest of the card was dominated by Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh, with Sous Les Cieux (3-10) the standout performance of their combined double in the Fairyhouse Membership 2012 Maiden Hurdle.
The French import found one too good on his Irish bow back in January but this time barely came off the bridle to win by six and a half lengths.< Ceol Rua (8-11) was also an easy winner for Mullins and Walsh in the Christmas Party At Fairyhouse Maiden Hurdle.< Savello (7-2) provided Walsh with a treble on the card in the Fairyhouse Premier National Hunt Weekend Hurdle, while Mullins notched his own hat-trick when Are Ya Right Chief ridden by his son Patrick, scored at 4-1 in the Follow Nina Carberry on Twitter Irish National Hunt Flat Race.< Leroy Parker (2-1) made it second time lucky over obstacles in the Racegoer's #25 Package 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle.
After settling well in midfield, Noel Meade's charge fought out a thrilling finish with His Excellency and although the latter produced a smoother leap at the last flight, Paul Carberry galvanised his mount on the run-in to gain a half-length triumph.
The Gurteen Agricultural College Handicap Hurdle saw Harold's Cross battle past Wicklow Lad to score for Alan Crowe and Christy Roche.
